Hollis Apple Festival and Concert
Sunday, October 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
In addition to delicious Apple Crisp and Apple Pies served with Dr. Davis’ Ice Cream, the Hollis Town Band will perform!
One of the musical highlights of this year's Apple Festival will be the performance of two marches composed in the 1960s by Midwest composer Phillip G. Wilson. At the time the marches were composed, Mr. Wilson was a middle school band director and his daughter was a member of his band. These marches were rediscovered recently and made available for bands to perform through the efforts of Mr. Wilson's daughter, Dr. Millie Gore Lancaster. The Hollis Town Band recorded these marches and sent them to Dr. Lancaster and Mr. Wilson who were so delighted with the band's performance that both he and Dr. Lancaster along with other family members are planning to attend the Apple Festival. This is Mr. Wilson's 80th birthday year which makes this all the more special.
Please visit us on Sunday, October 2 for fine family entertainment and seasonal treats!
In case of rain, the event will be held at the Hollis/Brookline Middle School.
