HOLLIS WOMAN’S CLUB GENERAL MEETING

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

 

Call to order by President Kaaren Eastman at 12:10 PM.

 

Pledge of Allegiance and Collect for Women were led by Bev Waitt.

Guests were welcomed to today’s meeting.

Thanks were extended to the committee which prepared today’s meeting.

 

Minutes of the  meeting of September 14, 2005 are available for review during the meeting or on the Club’s website.

Treasurer’s report was presented and showed a balance of $38,426.07 as of 10/05/05.

Correspondence:  Kaaren asked for a volunteer to fill the position of corresponding secretary. Denise Pustizzi volunteered to take the position. She read a plea from Randy Forgaard for volunteers to help with the HUES Haunted House on October 22.

 

Announcements:

1.      Activities:  Announcements of upcoming activities were made, and are available on handouts and on the website.

2.      December meeting:  Program Director Diana Kroeger described the December 14 meeting as “A Gathering to Celebrate Women of Hollis.”  Members were encouraged to display their goods and/or passions.  10% of any sales generated will go to charity.

3.      NHGFWC District 6 meeting will be in Wilton on November 5.

4.      Charity Night at the Pheasant Lane Mall will be on November 20.

 

Old business:  Kaaren and Chris Furman, Chairman, thanked all volunteers who helped to make the Apple Festival a success.

 

New business:  Denise Pustizzi asked for help with the upcoming Children’s Toy Yard Sale on November 5th (at HUES),.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 12:35 PM, followed by Virginia Gerseny’s one-woman show on the life of Lady Jane Pierce, wife of President Franklin Pierce.

 

The next Board meeting will be at Ann Shedd’s home, at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, November 2, 2005.

 

The next General meeting will be the Guest Night Potluck, at Faith Baptist Church at 6:30 PM on Sat. Nov. 12th 2005.
