Hollis Woman’s Club General Meeting
Wednesday, November 8, 2006
Call to order by
President Diana Kroeger at 12:00 PM.
Pledge of Allegiance and Collect for Women was led by Doris Rafferty.
Visitors and guests were welcomed by Diana. She then announced the following events:
Guest Night and Potluck Dinner Party to be held Saturday,
November 11th, at 6:30 p.m. at
14th Annual Simon Evening of Giving will be held
Sunday, November 19th, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at
Diana thanked those members who contributed to our November Charity, Harbor Homes – Veterans Program. One-hundred items of soap, shaving crčme, razors, toothpaste and toothbrushes were donated and will be delivered to Harbor Homes – Veterans Program.
Our November hostess, Linda Reiner, and her committee were thanked for their service.
Treasurer’s Report was prepared by Sheryl Ellis. See Diana if you would like a copy.
Activity Group Report was read by Diana. Walking Group is still on hold for now. Two new groups have started up: Bowling (contact Sheryl Ellis) and Bridge (contact Eve Day). Sign-up sheets for all the Activity Groups were available on the table, as well as copies of the Activity Calendar of Events for November/December.
Diana announced that the December NYC Winter Bus Trip on Saturday, December 2nd, is sold out. See Susan Benz if you would like to be on the waiting list.
Diana introduced Laurie Miller who is Chair of the Hollis Senior Lunch Volunteer Program. She said that volunteers are still needed to help set up and serve lunch. Please contact Laurie for more information.
Our December Centennial Charity is Operation Troop Support.
We will collect new and unwrapped toys, CD’s, books and DVD’s for the children
of the troops serving in
The next Board meeting will be on Wednesday, December 6th, 9:00 AM, at the home of Denise Pustizzi.
Our annual December Holiday Coffee will be held at 10:00
a.m. on Wednesday, December 13th, at
